What’s on Tap! 7/24/2014

Whew.  If you’re reading this, you survived Springfield Craft Beer Week last week.  There’s even a chance you didn’t get enough.  Well, if that’s the case, maybe you should consider making the trip up to St. Louis next week.  After all, it’s STL Beer Week.  They’ll have over 100 events spanning throughout the city and featuring all of the local breweries (an believe me, there are A LOT OF THEM).

Or, you may be looking for something a little closer to home.  If that’s the case, I encourage you to check these area events:

Tomorrow night in Mother’s Backyard, Mother’s Brewing Company and The Moxie present Friday Flix: The Goonies.  $5.00 gets you in, show stars at 8:30, and it’s for 21 and up only.  Bring your best inventions and ride your BMX down, you Goonie.  Don’t show anyone your One-Eyed Willie, though.

August 1st is First Friday, and Mother’s wants you to taste something new.  They’ll have their First Firkin Friday with Smokin’ Wheels BBQ slinging food for you.  This month, they’ll have a Blueberry Mandarin Summer Wit for you to try, but make sure and get there early.  They tap the firkin at 6pm, but the tasting room opens at 4.

The Brown Derby Wine Center is hosting a Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America event on 8-12 @ 6:30 are on sale now. Tickets are $20 and that includes samples of all 12 collaboration beers, with the Bell’s collaboration available on draft. The Derb will have a few 12pks left over which will be sold via raffle at the event. There are less than 15 seats left, so hurry up and reserve your spot by calling 1(417) 883-4066.

Tomorrow from 4-7pm, The Brown Derby Wine Center will offer their weekly complimentary tasting, hosted by Eric Carter.  He’ll have 4 beers for you to try, so stop by and chat with him a bit and check out the Brown Derby Deli.  Sit down and order yourself something special on tap while you’re at it.

It’s never too early to add this event to your calendar: The 4th Ever Oktoberfest in the Ozarks in Mother’s Backyard is September 13th.  Just set aside the whole day.  Local beer, live music, and local food.
